G1 jackets over the last decades

Gents,

i`m considering buying a G1 in my size 44 ...

Actually I do not expect to find a wartime jacket in my size or if yes - would be awesome expensive

So can someone gimme a hint wether a "modern" G1 might get through as a wartime model or are the differences too obvious?
